Prohibited and conditionally accepted items for shipment

Dangerous goods are objects and substances that present a risk to health, safety, property or the environment during transportation.
 
There are nine classes of dangerous goods. Almost all dangerous goods are prohibited for transportation in international postal items.

In case of restricted goods, there are special provisions stipulated (license, form, disinfection certificate), preceding the release of item from customs for its further transportation to the destination.

Requirements for admission seeds, plants and other vegetal products are subject to quarantine control in Russia: Import of seeds, plants and other vegetal products for scientific research organisations and institutions is subject to taking-out a quarantine permit issued by the State Committee for Environmental Protection of Russian Federation.

Requirements for admission food products of animal origin in USA: the import of these products is allowed only for pharmaceutical or biological purpose, with authorization issued by the Plant and Animal Inspectorate – Veterinary Service of the US Department of Agriculture.

Requirements for admission pharmaceutical products in Ukraine: postal items containing medicines unregistered in Ukraine and destined for individual use are accepted only if the recipient holds a relevant notification letter from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
